Description VCON develops, manufactures and markets high-performance, multi-function desktop and group videoconferencing systems designed for a variety of communication networks. The most common networking protocol used in the Internet and by businesses in their local area networks is called the Internet Protocol, or IP. Our systems maximize performance over IP networks and facilitate interactive communication between remote users through two-way videoconferencing, the streaming transmission of data and collaborative sharing of computer files. These systems are primarily targeted at business, distance learning, government and telemedicine, the delivery of medical services from a physically remote location. We are a leader in the development of technologies that deliver video, voice and data over networks based on the Internet Protocol. Our video over IP technology also allows transmission and reception of video, voice and data streams through existing networking infrastructures. Most of our systems provide a dual-mode capability, which permits their use in both IP-based networks and Integrated Services Digital Networks, or ISDN. ISDN is a service that allows high speed digital transmission of video, voice and data over regular telephone lines. |
