Product:  CommASIC® LP1070 WLAN Baseband Product Family
Company:  CommASIC
Type:  Hardware
Description:  CommASIC introduces two new 802.11a/b/g baseband processors, the lowest power consuming in the industry, for integrating WiFi into handsets and mobile handheld devices. Until now, it hasn't been feasible to embed WiFi in portable mobile devices because of excessive power consumed by 802.11a/g. Device manufacturers demand dramatic improvements in power efficiency yet without any degradation to performance. CommASIC's LP1071 and LP1072 baseband solutions consume only 1/10th the active power of leading 802.11a/g solutions, and only 1/20th the standby power of others. CommASIC's LP1071 is also the smallest package to include both 802.11a/b/g PHY and MAC functionality. The benefits for mobile device manufacturers are dramatically longer battery life, smaller form factor, and low BOM cost, all without any sacrifice to performance.
